A plastic kit of a modified drag racing special in 1:25 scale from the American brand AMT. It is a custom subject, that is, a car built to order outside production, on which the looks matter as much as the performance. The model is intended to be glued and painted. Check the particular number of parts, the makeup of the decals and the dimensions of the finished model on the packaging.
The custom specials of the American scene came about in small workshops and their creators vied with one another in inventiveness: stretched proportions, an exposed engine, an unusual cabin and paintwork meant to set the car apart at first glance. Cars like that traveled to shows as often as to the track, and their appearance changed over the years according to whoever owned them at the time.
First dry-assemble the whole model, so you know which parts are painted separately and what has to be joined before painting. Glue the frame on a flat surface with thin polystyrene cement and let it cure. Glue the chrome parts with a minimum of glue, so the plating is not damaged. Spray the body with a filler primer and apply rich or pearl shades over a white base. Custom subjects live on gloss, so once the paint has dried apply a clear coat in several thin coats and polish the surface. Apply the decals on a gloss surface with a decal softener.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
