The Pontiac GTO is among the classic representatives of the American muscle car class - a mid-size car with a large-displacement V8 at the front and rear-wheel drive. The 1970 model year brought a reworked front with a characteristic grille and bold two-tone striping. The Super Stocker treatment aims at acceleration over the quarter mile: the production car was given lightened equipment, a reworked intake tract, sporting exhausts and wider rear tires, so it differs from the ordinary road version even in the stance of the body.
First rid the body of parting lines, and it also pays to sand the roof and the edges of the fenders - on a gloss finish every unevenness shows. Apply a filler primer, go over it with a fine abrasive and only then spray the top shade. A gloss finish in several thin coats looks better than one heavy one. Assemble and paint the engine and the running gear before the body seats on the chassis. Clean the chrome parts with a dry cotton swab and cut them off with care, because damaged chrome is hard to put right. Apply the decals on a gloss surface, settle them with a decal softener and overcoat with a clear coat, so the edges of the sheet disappear.
