An injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian Ducati 916 road sports bike in 1:12 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. The model offers a fully detailed engine, rubber tires, wiring and finely rendered parts of the frame and the fairing. The Ducati 916 was introduced at the end of 1993 and became an icon of motorcycle design of the nineties. It was powered by a liquid-cooled 916 cc L-twin engine with the typical desmodromic valve gear and electronic fuel injection. The elegant lines by Massimo Tamburini, the single-sided rear swingarm and the characteristic twin tailpipes under the seat made it a collector's gem and the basis of successful superbike racers.
Assemble and paint the engine and the trellis frame first, and only then the fairing. Treat the fairing with primer and paint it with an airbrush; for a faithful Ducati red, apply a saturated red in several coats and overcoat it with clear gloss varnish, which gives the decals depth. Leave the chrome and polished parts glossy and bring out the chain and the mechanics with a wash. Do not paint over the rubber tires and leave them matte.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
