About product

The real subject

The Kawasaki KH250 belonged to the last generation of two-stroke road machines of the middle capacity class. It was driven by an air-cooled inline three-cylinder engine of a quarter of a liter, which was an unusual choice in this class, and it can be seen on the machine at first glance: the three exhausts led from the cylinder head give the layout of the engine away before you read the designation on the tank. The B3 and B4 forms come from the end of the 1970s, that is, from the time when two-stroke road machines were slowly bowing out.

What the build involves

A model of a motorcycle is a different kind of work from an aircraft or a tank. There is no closed fuselage here in which a joint that has not come off well could be hidden, because every part stays in sight from all sides. Lay the order of painting out in advance, then: the frame, the engine and the small accessories are painted individually before assembly, because once they are cemented, neither a brush nor a nozzle will reach some places any more.

Building and painting tips

Free the parts of excess material and of the traces of manufacture and sand the mating surfaces. The painted surfaces of the tank and the fenders deserve the most work: thin layers, intermediate sanding of the paint and finally a gloss clear coat, on which the shape only then comes into its own. If you are going to apply decals, lay them on a smooth glossy surface; on a matte layer a white haze will appear under them. The order of assembly and the recommended shades are stated in the instructions from the manufacturer.

FAQ

Rather for a modeler who has already built something. A motorcycle has a lot of small parts in sight and forgives less than the closed fuselage of an aircraft.

They are not. Paints, glue and filler are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.

They set apart the forms from the end of the 1970s. Check the differences between them in the documentation on the machine you want to build before the build.

The frame, the engine and the small parts before assembly, the painted surfaces of the tank and the fenders separately and finished with a gloss clear coat. Once it is cemented you will no longer reach many places.
