Responsibility details are not available.
The Yamaha TZR250 with the code 3MA is a motorcycle that tried to carry circuit engineering over to the road as literally as possible. The two-cylinder two-stroke was given a reversed layout with the exhausts led forward and the intake from the rear, and with it a delta frame and a full fairing with a shape taken from racing machines. The year 1989 caught the class of quarter-liter two-strokes at its peak: the Japanese marques fought each other over every kilogram and every revolution, and a customer could buy a machine whose output was at the limit of what a domestic agreement allowed. A few years later emissions rules swept this class away and the TZR250 became a collector's item.
The set in 1:12 scale is built on sprues of injection-molded plastic, to which belong a bright plated molding for the chassis components, clear parts for the screen and the turn signals, soft tires and a decal sheet with the works graphics. The engine, the frame and the fairing are separate building groups, so the machine can also be displayed with the powerplant exposed.
The chemistry does not come in the box: the modeler provides the thinner, the super glue, the masking tape and the spraying equipment. The clutch and throttle cables are usually replaced at this size with wire and sleeving of one's own. Metal ornaments are not supplied by the maker in the set; they are sold separately under a record of their own. Buildability does not suffer by it: the machine comes out complete even from what is in the box, and the accessories are an option for those who want to go beyond molded plastic. A built model is over twenty centimeters at this size, so it calls for a stable place in a display case.
