This kit represents the ship Darth Maul uses in the first part of the Star Wars film saga. According to the name, the release is tied to the twenty-fifth anniversary of The Phantom Menace. According to the name, the scale is 1:120.
The ship appears in the film as a fast and inconspicuous means of transport. It has a rounded hull with a prominent ring around its circumference and folding outriggers, and in the story it serves to get the Sith apprentice to his target unnoticed. In shape it is one of the most recognizable craft of the whole episode, not least because of its dark, almost single-color surface, which stands out sharply against the glossy ships from Naboo.
Large unbroken areas need careful preparation: fill and sand the seams, or you will see them under a dark finish. An even shade over a shape this busy is easiest to lay down by spraying in several thin coats. So that the model does not look like a flat silhouette, lighten the edges with a noticeably paler tint and, conversely, bring out the panel lines with a dark flowing shade. Decals hold best on a smooth gloss intermediate coat, which is then overcoated with matte.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
