The real subject

The De Tomaso Pantera is an Italian-American sports car with a mid-mounted V8 and a body with a markedly low nose. It is precisely the combination of a European chassis and a large-displacement engine from across the Atlantic that made it a rewarding entrant in the endurance races of the first half of the 1970s, where the competition versions were given fender flares, additional radiators and conspicuous race numbers.

How to apply the decals

• Let the finish cure completely and polish it to a high gloss - otherwise silvering will appear under the film.
• Cut the motifs out as close to the artwork as you can and apply them in stages, from the large areas to the small lettering.
• Soak the sheet in warm water for only a few seconds and let the decal release of its own accord.
• Settle it with a decal softener, so the film draws into the recesses of the body and over the edges of the fender flares.
• Once dry, overcoat with a clear coat, which will hide the edges of the film.
