A modeling paint from AMMO of Mig Jimenez. The name of the shade is Italian: marrone means brown and mimetico camouflage, so Marrone Mimetico 1 is camouflage brown number one. For the shade the manufacturer gives the number FS 30118, that is, a reference to the American Federal Standard, the US federal list of color shades in which every tone has its number. A reference to the standard serves to make clear which subject the shade comes close to, and to allow it to be compared across brands. The leading three belongs in the standard to the group of matte tones.
Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before use; the pigment settles to the bottom. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, that is, the thinner meant for this line; mixing it with another line may curdle the binder and the coat will then come out grainy. Spray in several thin coats, letting each one flash off, and with a brush work in short strokes in one direction. Wash the base beforehand, degrease it and unify it with a primer.
Brown camouflage tones behave differently on a model than on a full-size machine: on a small area they read richer and darker, because the layer of air between the viewer and the subject is missing. So it pays to work with the shade in layers, to lighten the center of an area slightly and to spray the transitions to the other colors of the camouflage scheme gently and at lower pressure. Try the shade on a spare piece of plastic before putting it on the model.
The paint is supplied on its own. Thinner, primer and clear coat are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
