An easy-to-build plastic kit of the destroyer USS Arthur W. Radford (DD-968) in the small collector's scale of 1:1250 from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. The kit offers a low part count, the choice of a full hull or a waterline version and an enclosed display stand. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
USS Arthur W. Radford belonged to the American Spruance class of destroyers. The gas turbine powered vessels concentrated mainly on anti-submarine warfare and on escorting task forces. The hull of the Spruance class served as the basis for the later guided missile cruisers. The ship served from the end of the 1970s.
Given the small scale, a clean coat of gray and a fine separation of the decks come out best. Assemble the hull, clean up the parting joint and lay the base color on with an airbrush. Pick out the detail of the superstructure with a brush, a fine wash will deepen the shadows and a dry brush will pull out the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
