An acrylic paint for modelers from the Dual Exo range by AK interactive. The shade is called Oxide Red and it dries to a satin, that is semi-gloss, finish. The volume of the container is 60 ml.

A semi-gloss as a working coat

A satin coat has a double role on a model. Either it is the final finish where an area is meant to look painted but not to mirror, or it serves as an intermediate stage before decals and weathering, because it is smoother than a flat finish while the shape is not lost on it. Both are legitimate approaches and all that decides is how you end the work. If you flatten the model in the end, the satin coat will have made laying the decals easier in the meantime. If you leave it as it is, you get a medium sheen with no further varnishing.

Use

• Shake the paint thoroughly and for a good while before working.
• Apply in thin coats, with a brush as well as an airbrush.
• Let the surface dry between coats.
• If you want a different final sheen, unify the area with a final varnish.
• Clean the tools right after working, while the paint is fresh.
