This is a set of precisely pre-cut painting masks in 1:24 scale intended for a model of the Porsche 911 SC RS racing car. The masks cover the glazing and make a clean spray of the black frames around the windows easier. The manufacturer is Decalcas. It is not a kit but an accessory that speeds up and sharpens the painting.
Window frames and their dark surrounds are among the hardest details on car models to color evenly with a brush. The pre-cut masks follow the shape of the glazing and of the frames exactly, so that once they are stuck on and sprayed a sharp dividing edge is created with no paint running over.
Lift the masks carefully off the backing sheet, seat them exactly along the outline of the frame and press the edges down carefully so that the paint cannot run underneath. Apply several thin coats rather than one thick one. Once dry, remove the mask at a sharp angle while the paint is still freshly dried.
The set contains masks and instructions only; the model and paints are not included in the package.
