A plastic kit of the German Bergehetzer recovery vehicle completed with a 3 cm Flak 38 antiaircraft gun, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bergehetzer is the recovery version of the light 38(t) tank destroyer known by the nickname Hetzer. It is built on the same chassis, so it kept the low silhouette and the small dimensions, but instead of a closed superstructure with a gun it received an open working bed. In it the vehicle carried winch equipment for pulling out bogged-down and damaged machines. A chassis shared with the production type meant simpler maintenance and spare parts.
The name of this form gives the addition of a 3 cm Flak 38 antiaircraft gun. It therefore combines a recovery vehicle with a weapon meant against low-flying targets. How the gun is handled in the set and how it is seated into the open bed is described in the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with the package.
This is a plastic kit in 1:35 scale, which you assemble and paint yourself. The extent of the set, the number of parts and the choice of marking options are given in the enclosed instructions.
On this type you can see into the open bed, so paint the inside before you close it with the upper parts. Remove the excess material and the traces of manufacture with a sharp blade and sand the surface. Wash and degrease the model before painting. Recovery equipment tended to be muddy and scuffed, so it pays to work with a weathered surface more than on combat vehicles.
Paints, glue and accessory sets are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
