A black shade with a high gloss from the Mr.Paint line. The package is made up of two bottles of 15 ml, thirty milliliters in all, which suits cases where the same shade is used up in larger quantities or where a stock is needed for a longer build. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, that is the thinner intended for this line.
High gloss black is used in modeling in two ways. First as a shade in its own right on polished black areas, frames, hoods and accessories, and second as a smooth base. On a perfectly smooth glossy surface the metallic shades laid over it come out well, and decals also sit on it without silvering, because no air can get under the film.
The basis is preparing the surface: wash the area, degrease it and sand out any score marks, because gloss brings out every irregularity. Apply the paint in several thin coats with a pause between them rather than in one heavy coat, otherwise it builds up in the corners and the gloss goes dull. Let the surface dry properly between coats. Stir the bottle well before use.
The paint comes into its own on aircraft, vehicles and car models, that is everywhere a deep black with a gloss is needed. Advanced modelers will also appreciate it as a reliable base under subsequent shading, because a glossy area does not absorb and the shade stays exactly as it was applied. The model, the thinner and tools for applying it are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
