This is a small accessory for 1:48 scale, not a kit. The accessory serves to replace a simplified plastic part on a model with a more accurate shape.
Small arms are among the parts that an injection mold never quite manages — the barrel tends to be thicker than it should be, and fine features are lost in the parting line. A separately made accessory is more accurate in this, and on a finished model the difference is visible even in 1:48 scale. The use is purely modeling: finishing off the armament of vehicles, filling a bracket on the hull or completing a figure scene. Before gluing, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry. Cut the casting block off with a sharp knife, not with nippers, so that the thin barrel does not break — it is the most sensitive point of the whole part. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). In color it comes out best with a dark steel base over a primer, supplemented by a fine lightening of the edges; the wooden parts are worth picking out separately, so that they stand out against the metal.
