1:48 Israeli helmet M76 (OR-201) with camouflage cover (detail) is an accessory for figures in 1:48 scale — the Israeli helmet with a camouflage cover in the form the name designates as detailed. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a small accessory of equipment for figure modelers and builders of scenes, not a model of hardware. Its content is the Israeli M76 helmet, also given as the OR-201, with a fabric camouflage cover, in the form the name designates as detailed. In 1:48 scale it suits aviation dioramas, smaller military scenes and serving as a replacement for a simplified helmet on a figure that came with a kit.
The OR-201 helmet has a deep shell and a short brim and differs from European types at first glance. In the field it was worn with a fabric cover pulled over the shell, so it is the cover that forms the resulting outline. That is why this set is closer to the real look of the equipment than the variant with a bare shell, which the manufacturer also makes.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water, let it dry and only then glue and paint it — grease and residue of mold release agent do the most damage on tiny parts. Cut the casting block off with a saw or a sharp knife, not with nippers. Cyanoacrylate glue holds on resin and on plastic alike, so on a part of this size it is more reliable than cement for plastic. Spray the base coat over a primer, paint the cover matte and pick out the folds with a thin wash; a drybrush will then bring out the edges. In 1:48 scale a suggested camouflage pattern looks better than an attempt at a literal rendering.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a figure are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
