A red silicone tube 200 mm long and 2 mm in size. A modeling material for imitating hoses, lines and wiring.
Responsibility details are not available.
A silicone tube in red, 200 mm long, with the size of 2 mm given in the name. Compared with a rigid tube, silicone is soft and pliable: it can be bent into a curve, it does not break and it springs back once released. That is exactly why it is used in modeling wherever a line is meant to look like a flexible hose rather than a wire bent into shape.
Typically for imitating hoses, feed lines and wiring. A colored tube has the advantage that it does not have to be painted; red is commonly used to tell individual circuits apart, so in a tangle of wiring it is clear what leads where. It also suits joining small parts where the transition is meant to be flexible.
Cut the tube with a sharp blade at right angles and in one stroke, as scissors squash the end and it is then no longer round. A wire or a pin can be pushed into the end, so the joint holds by shape and does not have to be glued. Where you do need to glue, reach for cyanoacrylate glue and apply it in a small amount, because it spreads easily on a soft surface. Expect paint to hold poorly on silicone and to crack when it is bent, so do not plan on painting and make use of the color of the material. Before cutting, try a longer section dry along the route it is to follow; the measured length tends to be shorter than the real one, because curves use up more material.
Whether the figure of 2 mm refers to the inner or the outer diameter is not stated here. Glue, paints and fixings are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
