Responsibility details are not available.
A book from Kagero's naval line. The name gives a single subject, the battleship Marat.
The Marat was one of the dreadnoughts of Russian construction completed before the First World War. Typical of this class in design is the arrangement of the main battery of 305 mm guns in four triple turrets spread along the length of the hull, a layout that differs markedly from the British or German ships of the day. The ship went through a modernization in the 1930s and over her long service changed both her name and her appearance, including a rebuild of the superstructure and the addition of anti-aircraft armament. The configuration therefore differs fundamentally depending on which period you are following.
With ships that had a career this long, pinning down the period is the key step even before you reach for a kit. The differences are not cosmetic; they take in the whole forward superstructure, the funnels and the armament. Anyone taking the subject on will appreciate literature focused on one vessel. Which period the title follows should be checked on the cover and in the contents of the publication.
This is a printed publication. It is not a kit and not a modeling accessory; the package holds no parts for building.
