A publication from Kagero's naval line. The name establishes the subject: the Japanese destroyer Fubuki.
The Fubuki gave her name to a class of Japanese destroyers often referred to as the special type. In their day they were a marked step forward: enclosed gun turrets with 127 mm guns instead of open mountings, heavy torpedo armament and, for destroyers of the time, large displacement and range. The design influenced later Japanese destroyers and is still cited as a milestone in the development of this category of ship. The appearance of the individual units changed over their service, chiefly in the anti-aircraft armament and in the layout of the stern.
Destroyers are built in smaller scales, and the charm of the model lies in the small things: torpedo tubes, boats, railings and fine masts. That is exactly why literature focused on a single vessel suits them. At the same time it is a rewarding size for a display cabinet, because the model takes up far less room than a battleship while offering work just as fine.
This is a printed publication. It is not a kit and not a modeling accessory; the package holds no parts for building.
