Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for a scene on an airfield apron. Starter carts were among the equipment without which no operation in the Second World War could manage: the engine of an aircraft was turned over from outside and only then started. With the name of the item the data on two pieces is given.
Ground starting equipment supplied the energy needed to turn the shaft of an engine. The crew brought it up to the aircraft, connected it and, once the engine had started, pulled it aside. It is exactly this moment, the cart at the side of the machine, a mechanic beside it and the pilot already in the cockpit, that is among the most rewarding subjects of airfield scenes, because it gives the scene movement and a sense of time. Without ground equipment the apron around an aircraft looks empty, however well the model is built.
In this scale it pays to assemble the cart on a needle or on a piece of wire that will serve as a holder during painting. First spray the base shade, then accentuate the edges with a dry brush and finally add a light dusting on the wheels and the underside. The cart fits in much better when it is matched in color to the surface it stands on. Suggest rubbed places with a fine point, not with large patches: in one one hundred forty-fourth exaggerated weathering is distracting.
The accessory is sold without the aircraft you want to display it with.
