Waterslide decals 1:144 for eight B-29 Superfortress bombers of the Korean period, including a reconnaissance version.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing B-29 entered history as the first series-built bomber with a pressurized cabin and remotely controlled turrets. When the fighting on the Korean peninsula began in 1950, the machines were prepared for a different war, and yet they flew thousands of sorties from bases in Japan and on Okinawa. It is exactly this late stage of their career that the sheet captures: machines of the 22nd and the 98th Bombardment Group from Kadena and Yokota, joined by the reconnaissance form, the RB-29A of the 91st Reconnaissance Squadron.
The set offers the basis for eight specific aircraft with their serial numbers, among them noses painted with names such as Mule Train, Mission Inn or The Wanderer. Next to them the sheet carries the national insignia and the unit markings for each of the variants. The dating runs between 1950 and 1952, so you can build a machine from the first months of the conflict as well as a later reconnaissance aircraft.
In 1:144 the finished model measures about twenty centimeters in span and the polished metal of the fuselage is its main ornament. Metallic shades behave differently under a decal than paint does: the surface is smoother but more sensitive to pressure, so settle the motifs with a soft brush and without rubbing. The painted nose is the most striking element of the whole model, so apply it first and line the rest of the markings up to it.
There are no plastic parts and no building instructions in the envelope; this is purely markings. Before applying them, spray the model with a gloss clear coat and once it is dry unify it with a semi-matte one.
