A base for a model 1:144, a concrete area 10.3 x 10.3 cm from Peewit is a printed base imitating the concrete surface of an airfield apron. It serves as a display base under a finished model; it is neither a kit nor a part of a model.

This is a modeling accessory, specifically a printed base measuring 10.3 x 10.3 cm with a concrete surface motif. You stand a finished model on it and it suddenly stands on an area that looks like airfield concrete rather than on the bare board of a table or in a display case. The motif is designed in proportion for models in 1:144 scale, so the joints and the dimensions of the concrete panels match what belongs under a machine in this scale. The base is neither glued nor assembled; it is used straight away.
The base looks best stuck to a rigid board, for example to cardboard, plastic or thin plywood, because it then does not roll or crease. Apply a thin layer of glue over the whole area rather than in spots, or the surface will ripple once dry. If you put the model down and pick it up again, it pays to spray the surface with matte varnish, which protects it from wear and fingerprints. The shades of the concrete can still be shifted with a fine dry brush or with pigment, according to how dusty a setting you want to suggest.
For modelers in 1:144 scale who want to display or photograph finished machines on a convincing base without having to build a whole diorama. Beginners will appreciate it too, because the use calls for no special technique.
This is a modeling accessory, not a model. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
