A metal detail set 1:144 for a model of the Tu-160 aircraft from the Metallic Details brand. An accessory for adding detail to a plastic kit, not a model of its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set in 1:144 scale intended to add detail to a plastic model of the four-engine Tu-160 bomber. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory which replaces heavily molded plastic shapes with thin metal parts. On a smooth airframe with large areas, every thick edge or mesh is recognized at first glance.
The Tupolev Tu-160 is a supersonic bomber with a variable-geometry wing and four turbofan engines placed in pairs under the fuselage. Structurally it is among the largest and heaviest combat aircraft ever; the wing is set in flight into several positions according to the flight regime, from little sweep on takeoff to heavy sweep in fast flight. It carries its weapons in internal fuselage bays.
With a model with variable geometry, decide the position of the wing in advance; it affects which metal parts can be glued in and which would get in the way of movement. Glue thin edges and mesh with superglue gel applied with the tip of a wire, not straight from the bottle. Degrease the metal with alcohol and lay a primer on. A light airframe will take only a very fine wash, or the model will get dirty; instead of continuous accenting, suggest the panel lines in spots. Glue small antennas and sensors on only after the paint and the gloss clear, so that they keep a sharp shape.
This is an accessory for adding detail to a plastic kit, not a model of its own. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
