An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Douglas C-47 Skytrain military transport aircraft in 1:144 scale from Academy. The C-47 was the military version of the famous Douglas DC-3 airliner. The package contains decals with several marking options, among others machines used in the Normandy landings, so you can build an iconic Allied transport from the key operations of the Second World War.
The Douglas C-47 Skytrain was a twin-engine transport and airborne-assault aircraft derived from the civil DC-3 airliner. It was used to carry troops and supplies, to drop paratroopers and to tow gliders. Skytrains played a fundamental role in the Normandy landings and in other Allied operations and became famous for their reliability and versatility; they stayed in service with a number of armed forces for decades.
Use liquid cement for plastic and give attention to a clean fit of the fuselage halves and the leading edges of the wing. Apply a primer before painting and lay the colors down with an airbrush. On schemes with invasion stripes it works well to spray the white and the black first and then mask; natural metal can be handled with metalizer paints on a smooth base. It is worth masking the small cabin glazing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
