A vacuum-formed canopy for the F-86 Sabre in 1:144 scale is cut for the F-toys kit and replaces the thicker part supplied.
Responsibility details are not available.
A replacement canopy for the cockpit formed from thin clear film. In one one hundred forty-fourth of the second range it is exactly the canopy that decides the impression of the whole aircraft: a thick part looks like a lump of glass in a window, whereas a thin-walled molding lets the seat and the frame stand out.
Vacuum forming takes place by drawing heated film onto a buck, so the resulting wall is an order of magnitude thinner than with an injected molding. The advantage is cleaner optics, less distortion and the possibility of seating the canopy open without the edge looking like a rim. The price is fragility and the fact that the part has to be trimmed precisely, which is why these components are mostly supplied with a reserve.
First go around the outline with a fine marker, and only then sand it down gradually on sandpaper laid on glass. Try the fit often and rather take off less. For attaching it use a glue for clear parts that leaves no clouding; cyanoacrylate glue would fog the surface. The framing you manage with thin strips of masking tape or with a ready mask and spraying. Before you set about the work, have the cockpit finished including the seat; after gluing you will no longer get inside.
The base aircraft and further accessories you obtain separately.
