Brengun 1:144 fuel barrels is an accessory set of miniature fuel barrels in 1:144 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for dioramas and models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory set from the Czech maker Brengun holds miniature barrels for fuel. In a small scale barrels are among the most rewarding accessories of all, because many of them can be used in one scene and they can still be turned, stood, laid down and stacked on each other in various ways. The set is not a model in itself; it completes machines and buildings already built.
The steel barrel of around two hundred liters with stiffening hoops is an element of supply that has practically not changed since the middle of the last century. It was and is used at airfields, by workshops, at fuel points and in stores, in army and in civilian service alike. It is precisely its universality that makes the set an accessory usable across periods and themes.
Barrels look best when they are not the same. Divide them into two or three groups and give each a different base shade and degree of wear. Rust is not painted as an area in this scale but as small points and traces running down from the hoops. A dark wash in the hollows between the hoops and fine drybrushing on the upper edge will help. If you build a stack, glue it first on its side on a surface, let it dry and only then set the whole block into the scene. We recommend seating the barrels in a thin layer of modeling paste before fitting them, so that they look sunk into the terrain and do not float above it.
The set is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
