An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:144 scale from the Czech manufacturer Mark I Models. The boxing combines the FB.11 fighter-bomber configuration with the export FB.60 version and is tied thematically to service with the air forces of Commonwealth countries. Check the package contents and the number of marking schemes on the box.
The FB.11 was the most numerous variant of the Sea Fury and served not only with the Fleet Air Arm, but also with other Commonwealth countries that took the machines over or ordered them directly. The designation FB.60 belonged to the export configuration delivered to Pakistan, where the aircraft flew from land bases. Structurally it was the same airframe with the Bristol Centaurus radial engine, and the differences lay mainly in equipment and in the color scheme. The Sea Fury stayed in active service even at a time when jet machines were already in common use, because it offered good load-carrying capacity and endurance.
Kits in a small scale tend to be produced in shorter runs, which shows in thicker sprue gates and more pronounced mold seams. Reckon with spending more time cleaning up than you are used to with large-series molds. Sand the mold seam on the fuselage and on the wing with fine paper and polish it, otherwise it will show as a matte stripe once the model is varnished. Dry assembly without glue pays off with every larger part, because a small correction by sanding is easier than filling. Use thin cement applied by capillary action into the joint, as a thick gel would be harder to meter at this scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
