The name of the item uses the period nickname of the type and names three carriers, among them British companies as well as a South American operator. The model is thus aimed at collectors of civil air transport who want smaller regional machines in a display case too, not only large airliners.
The HS.748 came about as an undemanding regional airliner able to operate from short and poorly paved runways. It has a low-set wing, two turboprop engines and sturdy landing gear. It was precisely that combination that gave it a long career with smaller carriers, with charter companies and on routes where larger jets could not be used. The type also saw licensed production abroad and military derivatives, but civil machines made up a substantial part of its service.
Civil schemes are more demanding on the surface than military camouflage. Fill the seams on the fuselage carefully and sand them smooth, otherwise they will show through under white paint. Spray the white area over a light base in several thin coats, so that it stays smooth and does not flood the fine panel lines. Mask the dividing lines between the white and the fuselage color with good tape and secure the edge with an overspray of the base color, so that the shade seeping under it does not get through. Leave the metal areas under the fuselage for the end, as metallics are hard to mask. Apply decals with long stripes in sections, with plenty of water under the film, and align them with a brush while they are still movable.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
