Armory 1:144 wheels for the Harrier GR.7/GR.9/AV-8B with sagging tires are a resin replacement for the wheels of the second generation Harrier. A cast contact patch gives the model a faithful stance on the surface under load.

This add-on set from Armory is made for models of the second generation Harrier in 1:144, that is for the GR.7, GR.9 and AV-8B versions. The resin castings carry a sharper tread and sidewall pattern than small injection-molded parts usually manage, and the tires have sag cast in where they touch the runway. Once finished, the model no longer looks as though it hovers above the surface. The set is an add-on to a kit, not a model of the aircraft.
The second generation Harrier built on the original British type with a redesigned wing and extensive changes to the airframe and the equipment. The AV-8B, GR.7 and GR.9 versions served in ground support and strike duties while keeping the ability to take off vertically and from a short run. The landing gear layout with main wheels on the fuselage centerline and outrigger wheels at the wingtips remained characteristic of the type and is clearly apparent on a model.
Work with tweezers over a light surface, as the parts are small. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw and level the cut with sandpaper. Verify the contact patch against a flat board and watch while gluing that the model settles onto the main and the outrigger wheels at the same time. Wash the parts in warm water with dish soap before painting and let them dry out completely. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic does not work here. Paint the tire dark gray and flatten it down, then finish the hub with a brush around the rim. Hint at service dust sparingly with pigment so that a small part does not disappear under a layer of effect. Protect your airways when sanding resin, and sand wet if you can.
This is an add-on to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The set is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
