An injection-molded plastic kit of the iconic Czechoslovak glider L-13 Blanik in 1:144 scale from the Czech maker Mark I Models. The box holds two models, so you can build a pair of machines in different schemes or keep the second kit in reserve. The parts are small, but the fit is well thought out and the build is quick.
The L-13 Blanik is a two-seat all-metal high-performance glider developed in Czechoslovakia whose prototype first flew in the mid-1950s. It became the most widespread sailplane of its kind, served in flying-club training all over the world and was built in thousands. It was precisely this mass use in club training that earned it a reputation as a dependable workhorse.
The thin wings and tail surfaces need to be separated from the sprue gates carefully and dry-fitted. Use liquid cement for plastic and a fine abrasive. Mask the canopy glazing and fit it only after painting. For clean decals lay down a gloss coat, and once finished even out the surface with a matte or semi-gloss coat as the subject requires.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
