Responsibility details are not available.
This masking set from SX-Art is an accessory for building the model of the Soviet short-haul jet airliner Yakovlev Yak-40 in 1:144 scale. It is not a kit but a set of precisely cut templates for masking the glazed areas before spraying. The cut is made for the kit from the Zvezda brand.
The Yak-40 was the first production jet airliner for short routes and undemanding airfields. It carries three jet engines, two on the sides of the rear fuselage and one in the tail, and thanks to its straight wing it makes do with a short runway. Civil and military operators in a number of countries flew it, and some machines fly to this day.
Stick the masks onto a clean, degreased and dry surface. Press the edge down with a toothpick or the blunt tip of tweezers so that no paint runs underneath. Spray in thin coats, as a thick coat creates a step at the edge. Take the mask off as soon as possible after the paint has dried and pull it back at an angle over itself rather than straight up. At 1:144 it is worth working with good lighting and a magnifier, because the windows are tiny and the frames narrow. Adhesive residue from the mask can be lifted with a cotton swab moistened in alcohol.
