An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet and Russian heavy fighter Sukhoi Su-27 in the Flanker B version (the single-seat basic variant) in 1:144 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the elegant airframe with its blended body and two engines, and in the small scale it suits a collection of modern fighters.
The Su-27 is a twin-engined heavy air superiority fighter developed in the 1970s and 1980s as the Soviet answer to the American F-15. It stands out for its long range, its agility and its armament of guided air-to-air missiles. Characteristic is the aerodynamically clean, blended airframe, where fuselage and wings flow smoothly into one another. The Su-27 and the versions derived from it serve in many countries to this day.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic; assemble and paint the small pylons and guided missiles separately. Glue the cockpit glazing with canopy glue so that it stays clear, and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Su-27s typically carried a blue-gray camouflage - after the gloss varnish and the decals, pick out the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
