A precisely turned metal pitot tube (the airspeed probe on the nose) in 1:144 scale for models of the Soviet and Russian Su-27 and Su-30 Flanker fighters. It is not an aircraft model or a kit, but an aftermarket replacement part that replaces the fragile plastic probe with a precise and durable metal one.
The pitot tube on the nose of an aircraft is thin and easily damaged; the plastic version tends to be soft and is rarely perfectly straight. The turned metal part is straight, sharp and strong, so it gives even a tiny 1:144 model a faithful and accurate nose silhouette.
Cut off the original plastic probe, drill a fine hole on the axis of the nose and glue the metal part in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal before painting and treat it with a primer.
The replacement part is supplied on its own. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
