Extended high-lift devices for the Boeing 747-200 in 1:200 scale. The detail that gives the classic jumbo movement. It counts on the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for the model of the Boeing 747-200 in 1:200 scale, which replaces the closed trailing edge with a rendition that has the flaps lowered into the landing position. The base kit is Hasegawa.
The wing of the first jumbos was among the most complicated structures built at the time. On the trailing edge worked flaps divided into several consecutive segments, which moved apart as they extended and formed slots between them. Air flowed through those onto the upper surface and kept the flow attached even at a high angle. Without that a machine this heavy would not have reached the runways of the airports of the day. An opened set of devices is therefore one of the most striking images an aircraft of that generation offers.
In 1:200 scale the wing has little thickness, so cut in layers and rather more slowly. Support the weak parts before you go at them with a knife. Set the shade of the inner surfaces apart from the upper side of the wing and emphasize the edges slightly after painting, otherwise they get lost at this small scale. It also helps to put the individual parts down on a light surface between steps, or they easily wander off.
