This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:144 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter depicts the Chinese F-8 II fighter (Shenyang J-8 II) in the colors of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with a clear cockpit part and waterslide decals. The small scale makes for a quick build for the display case.
The F-8 II is a Chinese single-seat supersonic interceptor intended for high altitudes and high speeds. Against the older form it received side air intakes and a more powerful powerplant. It served for many years in the People's Liberation Army Air Force and navy as a high-altitude interceptor.
Use liquid cement for plastic to join the parts. Spray the gray or silver scheme with an airbrush, bring out the panel lines with a wash and apply the decals onto a gloss coat. Metal surfaces show best on a smooth base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
