The Tu-22M3 (NATO reporting name Backfire C) is a Soviet and later Russian twin-engine supersonic bomber with variable-geometry wings. It serves as a long-range strategic and maritime strike aircraft able to carry guided missiles as well as bombs. Thanks to the swing wings it combines high speed in the cruise with favorable takeoff and landing characteristics. It is one of the most striking Cold War bombers and remained in service for decades afterwards.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic and sand the fuselage and wing joints carefully. In the small 1:144 scale good surface preparation shows: spray a primer, apply the paints with an airbrush and bring out the panel lines with a fine wash. Finish the cockpit and the landing gear before closing the fuselage, and protect the glazing with a mask. With the swing wings, decide before gluing whether you want them fixed spread or swept.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
