An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet twin-engine aircraft Tupolev Tu-2 in the torpedo T version in 1:48 scale from the Xuntong Models brand. It is a sizeable model with a large number of parts, clear parts for the glazing and a decal sheet with postwar schemes. The T form differs from the bomber versions in being adapted for carrying torpedoes, that is in its focus on naval strike tasks.
The Tupolev Tu-2 was a Soviet twin-engine medium bomber with twin vertical tail surfaces and radial engines, which proved itself during the Second World War and after it. The torpedo version Tu-2T served with the naval air force and was adapted for releasing torpedoes against surface targets. The Tu-2 type stayed in the inventory of a number of countries in the postwar years as well, among others with the Soviet, Chinese, Polish and Bulgarian air forces.
Given the large number of parts, plan the build out and dry-fit the parts. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement, finish the glazed cockpits and mask the glazing before the fuselage is closed. Sort out the torpedo racks and their correct positioning. Spray the postwar schemes with an airbrush after a base coat (a primer) has been applied, apply the decals on a gloss clear and finish the patina by letting it run into the panel lines.
