A sheet of decals in 1:16 scale with the symbols used on German armored vehicles. This is the sixth part of a numbered series, so the contents differ from the other parts; check exactly what is on the sheet on the packaging. It is not a model or an accessory for the build but markings for a model that is already built and painted.

What the sheet is for

The 1:16 scale is one of the large modeling scales and it is used both for kits and for remote-controlled vehicle models. At a large scale the markings are markedly easier to see and at the same time harder to paint by hand, because every inaccuracy shows on a large area. A printed sheet therefore also solves what could be managed with a brush at a smaller scale. Symbol sheets are additionally useful where a kit offers only one marking variant and the modeler wants to build a different machine.

How to apply the decals

Finish the model in color and coat the areas under the decals with gloss varnish. Cut the decal out as close to the design as possible, dip it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest until it starts to slide on the paper. Settle it with a brush, draw the water off from under the film and use a softener, so that the decal sucks into the texture of the surface. With large decals in 1:16 scale work with plenty of water under the film, so that the design can still be fine-tuned, and push the air from the center toward the edges. Once dry, unify the surface with a matte varnish.
