A position of repose is a rarity with game figures, and that is exactly what makes this one interesting. The explorer is caught in a moment of rest, not in action, which gives him a quite different expression from a set of combat poses. The casting is of resin and in the large 1:16 scale it carries details that are lost on smaller figures - the buckles of the straps, the folds of the cloth, the wear of the boots. Behind the Spalah brand stands a Ukrainian workshop specializing in figures and diorama accessories.
In the game original the explorer is a loner who makes his living collecting artifacts and trading in them. Most of his time, however, goes not in fighting but in waiting under cover, checking his equipment and sleeping with one eye open. It is precisely such a moment that the figure captures and offers as a counterweight to dynamic figures. It works splendidly by a campfire, on a crate in an abandoned hall or under a concrete lintel.
Begin by washing in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the surface will take the paint. Cut the remains of the gates off and sand them over, ideally wet and with a respirator. Cyanoacrylate super glue will manage the joining. In a large scale the skin will take layering with glazes, and the cloth gains depth from a dark wash into the folds and fine lightening of the raised areas. Leave the metal and the leather at different degrees of sheen, otherwise the result merges together.
