1:16 scale is merciless: the bigger the model, the more every simplified shape strikes the eye. The wheels are among the first parts a viewer looks at, because they are at the level of the base and nothing covers them. This pair offers a patch deformed by the weight of the vehicle and a tread pattern listed as type 5, that is, one of the several forms that appeared on equipment of this kind.
Sd.Kfz. 234 vehicles served with the reconnaissance detachments of the tank and motorized divisions. Their task was not to fight but to find the enemy, report him and vanish before the reply arrived. Speed on a made-up road and the ability to cover a great distance without refueling made them a machine that could operate on its own hundreds of kilometers ahead of its own line.
