A wheel held in reserve in the fourth of the renditions in the range. The package is intended for builders of 1:16 models of German wheeled equipment and offers a small thing that most kits deal with only in passing. The piece can be taken in two ways: either as part of the vehicle, or as a prop on its own in a scene, leant against a crate, laid on a pile of kit or loaded on the trailer of a supply column.
Eight-wheelers of this family took part in the fighting in the east and in the west alike. In Normandy they moved along the narrow lanes between the hedgerows, where aircraft were their main threat, while in the Ardennes offensive frozen ground and fog played into their hands. It told on the wheels: the tires suffered from debris after bombing, from stony ground and from improvised repairs in field workshops, so a vehicle rarely ran with a completely matching set.
When you lay the wheel loose, never leave it standing perfectly upright: a slight tilt and support against another object look natural. Weather the rubber differently from the hull, or the whole model will merge into a single shade.
