WEIKERT DECALS 1:16 Tiger I 007, 101st SS, Normandy, August 1944 is a decal set for a large model of the heavy tank. It completes the markings on an already built model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set from the brand WEIKERT DECALS in 1:16 scale, tied to the Tiger I heavy tank with the vehicle number 007 and with markings dated to Normandy in August 1944. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit: the decals are applied to a finished, painted surface.
The Tiger I is a German heavy tank with an 88 mm gun, a boxy slab-sided hull and interleaved road wheels. The three-digit vehicle numbers on the sides of the turret are among its most characteristic visual features, and in 1:16 scale they are large elements legible from a distance. A model at this scale has a turret side the size of a palm, so the whole impression rests on how well the number is laid.
The most common mistake is applying a decal straight onto matte paint. Matte paint has a microscopically rough surface in which air gets caught under the film, and a silvery haze appears around the design that can no longer be removed. The correct procedure: let the base coat cure properly, spray the area under the decal with gloss varnish and wait until it dries smooth. Cut the decal out close to the design, soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest on a paper towel until the backing releases by itself. Slide it onto the moistened area, straighten the position with a soft brush and draw the excess water off with a cloth from the center toward the edges.
The package contains decals. The model, paints, varnish and softener are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
