This item is neither an airplane nor a vehicle model but a standalone figure: an injection-molded plastic kit of a character in 1:16 scale, that is roughly a ten-centimeter figure once assembled. It comes from the fantasy branch of the figure line of the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM, which also includes other undead warrior characters. The 1:16 scale is a rewarding one for figure painters — it is large enough for the texture of the clothing, the armor and the modeling of the face to stand out, and yet it does not call for a display case meant for large-format busts. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the number of parts and the contents of the package are given in the instructions in the box.
This is a fantasy character, not a historical or contemporary person. The figure follows the motif of the undead warrior as modern fantasy treats it: a gaunt figure in damaged garb with a weapon. Judge the particular literary or film source from the illustration on the packaging.
Figures are glued with ordinary liquid cement for plastic, but the preparation is the key: carefully remove the mold seams on the limbs and the face with a scalpel and sand them down, because once painted every line shows. Fill the seams where the arms join the torso with putty. Apply a primer before painting, ideally a light gray one — it gives you a legible base for both skin and fabric shades. The painting itself proceeds in layers: a base tone, a shadow in the recesses, a highlight on the edges. On an undead character cool gray-blue and greenish skin tones and heavily muted fabric colors work well. A matte clear coat at the end, leaving only the eyes and the metal glossy.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
