1:16 Tiger II with the Henschel turret — photo-etched mesh from Voyager Model is an add-on set for a large-format kit you already own, not a model. The photo-etched brass replaces the plastic mesh over the engine compartment on the Trumpeter kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An aftermarket set aimed at the cooling mesh. It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory for the finished Trumpeter plastic kit. The 1:16 scale is an advantage for this kind of set: the large mesh panels are clearly visible on the model and the difference between molded plastic and genuinely perforated photo-etched parts is obvious at first glance.
The Tiger II was a German heavy tank of the Second World War with an 88 mm gun and steeply sloped frontal armor. It was built with two turret configurations; the production vehicle carried the so-called Henschel turret with a flat front wall, whereas earlier examples had a turret with a curved front. Over the engine compartment there were large cooling mesh panels protected by a grille against falling objects.
A photo-etched mesh works only when there is space to be seen beneath it. So as a rule it is not enough to glue over the plastic originals: the openings in the hull are cut out, or the plastic imitation mesh is sanded away, so that the photo-etched part does not lie on a solid surface. Blacken the inside of the engine compartment under the mesh with a dark color and, if need be, suggest some depth, otherwise light plastic will show through. In a larger scale even small imperfections stand out, so take care over the flatness of the parts and over cleanly finished joints. Dust and pigments like to settle in perforation; apply them sparingly and sweep the excess out with a dry brush.
The set is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
