About product

Photo-etched instrument panel BAE Hawk T.1 1:72 (MH models)

This is not an aircraft kit but a small upgrade set. It contains a finely photo-etched instrument panel, usually multi-layered and finished in color, for the kit of the BAE Hawk T.1 jet trainer by Airfix in 1:72 scale. It replaces the flat plastic part in both cockpits with crisp dials that cannot be molded from plastic.

The real subject

The BAE Hawk T.1 is a British two-seat trainer and light combat aircraft. It became famous as the machine of the Red Arrows aerobatic team and serves for training pilots to this day. The pair of instrument panels is clearly visible under the glazed canopy.

Use and fitting

  • Remove the original panel from the kit or level it smooth.
  • Glue the layers of the etched metal together and fit them with super glue.
  • Before the canopy is closed, the dials can be picked out with a thin varnish.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want to raise the fidelity of the cockpit of their Hawk in 1:72 scale without demanding painting.

The accessory does not include the model itself, glue or paints. Handling the small parts calls for tweezers.

FAQ

No, it is an accessory for a cockpit: a replacement photo-etched instrument panel. The model of the aircraft is not part of the package.

For a model of the BAE Hawk T.1 trainer in 1:72 scale.

As a rule not, as it tends to be finished in color; it is enough to glue it from the layers and fit it.
