A sheet of decals in 1:48 scale for Spitfire Mk.IXc and Mk.IXe aircraft in Greek and Burmese service. The first part of the range, released as a limited edition.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was a British single-seat fighter created by combining the airframe of the older series with the more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine. It was one of the most widespread versions of the whole type, and after the fighting in Europe ended the aircraft entered the inventories of a number of other states. The letters c and e at the end of the designation distinguish two wing configurations, which differed in the composition and arrangement of the armament.
The set concentrates on the markings of machines operated in Greece and Burma, that is on the national insignia, codes and numbers by which these aircraft differ from British ones. The words part 1 in the name mark out the first part of the range. The item is listed as a limited edition, so the number of sheets produced is limited. The extent of the sheet, the particular machines and the color breakdown including the shades are given by the instructions supplied with the decals.
The surface under the decals must be smooth and glossy; on a matte varnish air stays trapped under the carrier and the edges will be visible. Cut the motifs out close to the artwork. Lay a decal on a damp surface so that it can still be moved for a moment, and blot the excess water with the edge of a paper towel. Once dry, coat the model with a varnish so that the decal blends in with the surface. The recommended products are given by the instructions supplied.
A sheet of decals with instructions is supplied. The kit of the aircraft, paints and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
