A fire extinguisher is among the equipment carried on a vehicle in a readily accessible place: on a fender, on the side of the cargo bed or right by the entrance to the crew compartment. In 1:35 scale it is a small part with a large effect, because it has a pronounced shape and a different color from the surrounding panels, so it draws the viewer's eye at once. It is precisely such small items that tell a model built out of the box from a model that looks lived in.

The holders for these extinguishers are issued by the manufacturer as a separate item. The parts are not made of polystyrene, so solvent cement has no effect on them.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part, sand the remainder back and smooth the traces of manufacture on the body, because a cylindrical surface gives every unevenness away. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, so that the surplus does not spread around. When painting, it pays to finish the extinguishers separately away from the model and to fit them only to the completed vehicle, otherwise a laboriously colored part will be drowned in the overall shade. Add light soiling to the lower part and wear at the point where an extinguisher is lifted out of its holder.
The set suits modelers of armored and truck hardware as well as builders of dioramas who lack small equipment for several vehicles at once. The vehicle model, the paints and the glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
