A fire extinguisher was part of the mandatory equipment of German military vehicles and was clamped into a holder in a place where it was quickly to hand: on a fender, on the side of the cargo bed or within reach of the crew. It is the holder, though, that is the detail noticed on a model at first glance, because a metal band clamp has thin walls of a kind that cannot be made in an injection mold. The late pattern of the extinguishers had a different shape and a different mounting from the older types, so it pays to choose the holders according to the period your model is set in.
What is supplied is ten holders in two versions, in 1:35 scale. The extinguishers themselves are issued by the manufacturer as separate items, so they can be added as needed. The dimensions, the difference between the two variants and the recommended placement are specified in the manufacturer's description and instructions.
The parts are not made of polystyrene; they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder back, so that the mating surface sits against the cargo bed. Before painting, wash the parts, degrease them and apply a base coat. Paint a holder in the shade of the vehicle and, by contrast, make the extinguisher stand out clearly, otherwise the whole thing will merge; a fine wash into the joints and light wear on the edges will give the detail depth. Fit them only after the main spraying of the vehicle, so that masking is easier.
