Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of decals in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer OWL which, according to the name, is conceived as a mixed set of German aviation markings. The word miscellany in the name means a mixture, that is, a sheet made up of various motifs rather than a set for one particular machine. Check exactly what it holds against the illustration on the packaging. The package holds decals, not a model.
Mixed sheets belong in the kit of a modeler who builds several models from one setting. Whereas the decals packed with a kit cover only the finishes offered in the instructions, an accessory sheet allows markings to be combined, a damaged or yellowed original decal to be put right and motifs missing from the box to be added. That is exactly why it also suits as a store for part-built projects and for modelers who put their finishes together their own way.
Gloss clear varnish belongs under a decal; on matte paint air is held under the film and a silvery rim forms around a motif. Cut the motif out close to the printing, immerse it in warm water for a few seconds and let it soften on a towel. As soon as the film slides, carry it to the model, seat it with a brush and blot the water away. On engraved lines and rivets a softener will help, drawing the film down to the surface. Once dry, rinse the adhesive residues off and even the whole model out with a matte or satin varnish. With older sheets it pays to go over the printing with a thin layer of clear varnish before cutting, so that the film does not crumble.
The decals are an accessory for a kit. The kit, the paints, the varnishes and the softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
