Sapphire Blue is a rich sapphire blue from the AMMO of Mig Jimenez range. It belongs to the line intended for dry brushing, that is for the technique that brings out edges and raised details on a finished model. In that role a blue shade suits lightening dark blue and blue-gray coats, the edges of equipment and reviving surfaces that would stay flat and dead once they had been dirtied.
It is a technique in which you work with an almost dry brush. You pick up a minute amount of paint, wipe the vast majority of it off on a paper towel and then run the brush lightly over the surface. The paint catches only on raised edges and raised details, so they bring themselves out. A stiffer brush with short bristles pays off, and above all patience: the effect is built up gradually, not in one stroke. Add it in layers and pull back from the model now and then so that you see the whole and not only the spot under the brush.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before work. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions for this line. Try the strength of the effect on a piece of scrap plastic, because on the model any excess is hard to remove. Blue is a visually strong shade, so meter it sparingly. Rinse the brush out immediately after work, because dried paint at the ferrule splays the bristles and the stroke stops being accurate.
Thinner, brushes and the model are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
