Painting a model is not only a matter of choosing a shade but above all of order. Plan in advance what will come first and what only at the end, because every further coat works with the one before it. Areas that will be masked need their base perfectly dry, otherwise tape will take a piece of paint with it when it is pulled off.
For masking, choose tape with lower tack, press it down only at the edge and pull it off slowly and at an angle, not straight up. Before applying tape it pays to let the area rest longer than the feel to the touch would suggest. When you build a model with several color fields, that one habit alone saves a great many repairs and respraying. The same rule applies the other way round: leave a freshly unmasked edge alone for a while before you start tidying it, because paint at the edge hardens more slowly than in the middle of an area. And if a small ridge does form under the tape, sand it down only once it has dried completely, otherwise you will merely smear it.
Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a ventilated space and use respiratory protection while spraying. The manufacturer's instructions on the label always take precedence.
